Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan to reunite in Thalaivar 170 after 33 years

Indian cinema legends Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan are set to reunite on screen after 33 years in the upcoming film Thalaivar 170. The news was confirmed by Rajinikanth himself on Twitter, where he wrote, “After 33 years, I am working again with my mentor, the phenomenon, Shri Amitabh Bachchan in the upcoming Lyca’s ‘Thalaivar 170’ directed by T.J Gnanavel. My heart is thumping with joy!”
Thalaivar 170 is being directed by T.J. Gnanavel, who is known for his critically acclaimed films like Koottrame Thudi and Jai Bhim. The film is produced by Lyca Productions, which has previously produced films like 2.0 and Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1.
The plot of Thalaivar 170 is still under wraps, but it is reported to be a social drama. Rajinikanth will reportedly play the role of a cop in the film, while Amitabh Bachchan will play a pivotal role.
Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan have previously worked together in films like Andha Kanoon, Geraftaar, and Mahaan. Their last collaboration was in the 1990 film Hum.
