For Indians, RRR is more than just a movie. The masterpiece by SS Rajamouli has brought honor to India by succeeding on a global scale and receiving numerous awards. RRR received a nomination for the 95th Academy Awards after winning the Critics’ Choice and Golden Globe awards. The most recent rumors indicate that the makers, who are hoping to win the Oscars, have spent a significant sum on the Oscars campaign.
Naatu Naatu, a well-known Telugu song from RRR, has been nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song. M. M. Keeravani wrote the song, while Kaala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj are the singers. Recently, veteran director and producer Tammareddy Bharadwaj made some stunning comments on SS Rajamouli’s RRR movie. He went to an event, according to Track Tollywood, where he responded to the RRR movie and its budget. RRR’s producers spent just a little bit less on the Oscar campaign than KGF 2’s entire production budget.
RRR didn’t receive an official Oscar entry for the unknown, and SS Rajamouli’s picture was initially turned down. Yet once the movie garnered a huge amount of support in the West and was rated Oscar-worthy, the creators decided to launch a campaign. Although it was expensive, the campaign did aid in their nomination. Tammareddy believes that the producers spent almost 80 crores on the Oscar campaign, per Track Tollywood reports.
The senior director claims that with the money they spend on the illustrious awards, 8–10 films could be produced. In addition, he stated that the epic sum of Rs. 80 crore was spent on the promotion for the Academy Awards in addition to the historical drama’s Rs. 600 crore budget. Just 20 crores separate this budget from the $100 crore-budget KGF 2 movie starring Yash. RRR, then, stands a good chance of taking home the Oscar. On March 12, 2023, the winners will be declared.
