The biggest debut smash for superstar Mahesh Babu was MS Raju’s Okkadu. The romantic action film, written and directed by Gunasekhar, was a huge hit and a trendsetter.
On January 15 of the year 2003, Okkadu was launched to coincide with the Sankranthi celebration. The Bhumika Chawla-starring film made roughly Rs 30 crore at the Telugu box office. In addition, the film took home four Filmfare Awards, including Best Film. It is hardly surprising that the film increased Mahesh Babu’s popularity and range; he later broke records with Puri Jagannadh’s 2006 flick Pokiri.
At the time, Charminar’s whole set, complete with a neighbourhood surrounding it, was constructed by the movie’s producer.
Mahesh Babu’s other outstanding film, Okkadu, is currently being re-released in Tollywood following the success of Pokiri, which was the first film to receive this treatment. The film is ready to captivate audiences and the actor’s followers in a brilliant, updated edition for a greater theatrical experience.
On January 7, 2023, the film is about to be released. On December 24, the filmmakers will release the trailer for the re-release.
