Day 4 box office results for “Shaakuntalam” show that Samantha’s movie didn’t earn double digits over the weekend.

The Telugu mythological drama film “Shaakuntalam” was written and directed by Gunasekhar in 2023. The movie, which has a massive budget of more than Rs 60 crore, is a joint production of Sri Venkateshwara Creations and Neelia Guna of Gunaa Teamworks.

The movie was made available in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi on the 14th of this month. But the movie is claimed to have had extremely modest box office success because Samantha is the only notable actor in it and because both moviegoers and critics gave it mediocre ratings.

Due to it being a busy workday, it is predicted that the movie would struggle at the box office today. The movie is rumoured to have made over Rs. 7 crores so far, plus an extra Rs. 2 crores from overseas, and is on track to make $50,000 at the US box office. As it is a busy Wednesday for the general public, the movie is anticipated to make an additional Rs 1 crore today, on its fourth day in India. The movie reportedly failed to earn a double-digit sum in its first weekend of release, though the producers haven’t yet released the official box office numbers for that weekend. As a result, it is said that the team depends on non-theatrical revenues as of now. We’ll have to wait and see how today’s box office performs as the movie theatre company PVR Cinemas has also developed promotions like the “Buy 2 Get 1 ticket free” offer.
